01 — About
The person
behind the equations
I'm Amiyo Garai, a physicist-in-training pursuing my M.Sc. in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur — one of India's premier institutes, which I earned my way into through an all-India rank in the IIT JAM entrance exam. These days I spend my time somewhere between lecture halls, problem sets, and the occasional 2 a.m. derivation that finally clicks.
My curiosity lives at the extremes of scale. I'm drawn to theoretical high-energy physics — the fundamental grammar of particles and fields — to condensed matter, where collective behavior writes emergent laws of its own, and to astrophysics, where the universe shows off its biggest, oldest puzzles.
I'm currently on the research track, having been shortlisted for competitive Integrated PhD programs at leading Indian research institutes — the next step toward a life spent asking nature better questions.

Fields of fascination
High-Energy Physics
The quantum choreography of the smallest things — gauge theories, symmetries, and the Standard Model's elegant (and unfinished) story. Where mathematics meets matter at its most fundamental.
Condensed Matter
More is different. How electrons conspire in solids to produce superconductivity, magnetism, and topological phases — emergence as nature's favorite magic trick.
Astrophysics
The grandest laboratory of all. Compact objects, cosmology, and spacetime itself — where gravity writes in geometries and the night sky doubles as a data set.
Machine Learning
Where computation meets physical intuition — neural networks, federated learning and numerical methods as tools for simulating and solving what pen-and-paper alone can't reach.

04 — Projects
Ideas, made interactive
A growing set of tools that turn textbook concepts — in physics, chemistry, biology and beyond — into something you can click, nudge, and watch respond.
PlotStudio
A single-file scientific graphing app in the spirit of Origin — a custom 3D renderer, Nelder–Mead curve fitting, FFT/signal processing and full statistical testing, all running client-side.
SpaceLab
Designing and building drones and small rockets from scratch — flight dynamics, stabilization and propulsion, worked out in hardware rather than just on paper.
AI
Building and training machine learning models directly — not just using AI as a tool, but understanding what's actually happening inside the network.
Chemistry
A virtual chemistry bench for exploring reactions, stoichiometry and molecular structure — turning equations into something you can mix and observe.
Cybersecurity
A hands-on space for ethical hacking and security research — penetration testing, network defense and vulnerability analysis, practiced the responsible way.
InvestWise
A portfolio dashboard for tracking money across every sector at once — equities, real estate, government bonds and gold — with a clear read on how each is actually performing.
Advanced Physics
A deeper dive past introductory mechanics — quantum systems, field theory and the kind of physics that needs more than one semester to click. Still being built.
Math
A workbench for pure and applied math — algebra, calculus and numerical methods worked out visually, with every curve and root plotted as you go.
Biology Simulation Studio
A visual playground for biology — from cell structures to genetics — built to make abstract biological ideas tangible and explorable.
Physics Lab
Interactive animations that bring physics concepts to life in real time — projectile motion, waves, fields and orbits you can nudge and watch respond.
MindMaster
A guide to core psychology concepts — cognition, memory and behavior explained the way I'd have wanted them explained the first time around.
Robotics
Building and programming robots from the ground up — sensors, actuators and control logic, where code has to survive contact with the real, physical world.
Business
A self-directed study space for how businesses actually get built — how founders and operators think, and what it takes to go from an idea to a working venture.
Medical
Exploring human biology and medicine from the ground up — how the body actually works, and where physics, chemistry and biology all meet in practice. Still being built.
05 — Fields of Expertise
Still exploring
The areas I keep coming back to — and an open list, since I'm always picking up something new.
Web & App Development
Building things people can actually open and use — responsive websites and Android apps, from a clean interface down to the logic that runs behind it.
Using AI
Working with AI as a tool, not just about it — leaning on it to move faster through code, research and problem-solving, while still understanding what's happening underneath.
Python Programming
Plain, general-purpose Python — scripts, coursework and everyday problem-solving. Not AI or ML, just the language itself.
06 — Skills
Tools of the trade
What I actually reach for when theory needs to become something that runs.
